Get Healthy with Me // A May To-Do List!

Hey lovelies! I've seen a lot of people do these 'get healthy with me' posts and I think it's so motivating to write down your goals for the month like this, plus it means you guys can actually hold me to them. You all know I love all things fitness // food // and health but although it started off good, April just wasn't the month for me. I don't regret indulging over Easter at all... I mean family meetups, chocolate eggs, cakes and treats, who could resist? But even though I had so much fun over April, coming back into May I ended up feeling a bit sluggish and so this Month I'm determined to 'Get back on Track.'
The basis of this post isn't just 'Healthy' as in gym related, although that is high on my list this month, but all round little goals and tasks I want to do this month to look after my body both physically and mentally! Hope you enjoy and let me know in the comments below what your plans are for May.

1. Drink at least 2 Litres of Water a Day

In general I'm pretty good at drinking lots of water, and I've seen how much it can improve my skin ect. when I make a concious effort to drink more (it's crazy!) So this month I want to up this even more and try and have at least 2 Litres of Water a Day. I've started carrying a water bottle around everywhere now and so hopefully it will just become a healthy habit this Month.

2. Start Running outdoors again

Running is one of my favourite gym workout, I love it, but for some reason I'm always 'treadmill-bound' and never seem to run outdoors. As it gets closer and closer to Summer I really have no excuse not to, and so I want to start running outdoors again. Running in the fresh air and with nicer scenery is going to be lots better for me than being stuck in a sweaty gym!

3. Have one Self-Care Night a Week

I've been meaning to start this for ages, but self-care is one of the most important things whether it comes in the form of exercising and eating right or having a pamper and treating yourself. This May I plan to set aside one night each week where I do this, it could be as simple as putting on a facemask or taking a break from revision to have a hot-choc and netflix episode. But whatever it is, a bit of scheduled 'me-time' is something I really want to make a habit.

4. Try Yoga // Swap out a Gym Session with Something New

As much as I'm normally a gym person, this May my goal is to swap a gym session with yoga or another kind of relaxed exercise each week. Not only is it good for your mind and ties in with the self-care thing, but it strengthens and stretches parts of my body that I can't do with running and that's so important. It's always a struggle for me to do something like yoga because I'm much more into being active and I'm way to impatient but it's something I really want to try this month.

5. Do another Vegan Week

I'm not Vegan but as you guys know from time to time I love doing a 'Vegan-Week' where I challenge myself to eat Vegan the whole week and you might remember past blog posts I've done on this too...
The last one I did was in January though, and so in May I definitely want to give it another go. In the space of one week it's so interesting trying out completely new recipes + it naturally makes me eat a bit healthier since most junk food isn't usually Vegan! So far I'm meal planning for a Vegan Week in May, so let me know in the comments if you have any recipes or suggestions? It would help a lot with ticking this off my May Goals!

Hope you're having an amazing week, and if you're trying to be a bit healthier this month too then be sure to check out my latest recipe posts on Gluten Free Flapjack Bites and Healthy Dark Chocolate Brownies!

  1. I too need to drink more water. I've been breaking out so much lately, it's like my skin is congested. I know drinking more water will clear out my system 😁 I'm so happy I came across this post I feel like it's MOTIVATION to be more healthy. Thanks for sharing Morgan!

  2. Good luck with all these lovely! I'm the complete opposite to you I hate treadmill running but I love running outside, I was doing so well and really getting back into it but if I have a bad week where I don't get to go out for a run I lose all motivation and then a bad week turns into a bad month! I need to get back to it soon! I've also always wanted to try yoga but never got round to it so I'd love to take a class!

  7. Drinking water is something I really need to do more of, I go through phases of drinking loads and then hardly anything, I need to find a consistent routine. I love Yoga and having a self care night.

    1. I've been through the exact same thing in the past where I would drink tons in the morning and then barely anything for the rest of the day. All about balance though! x

  10. These are all such good ideas, I'm with you on all of them. I like that they are all healthy and realistic rather than I must lose weight or I must cut this out of my diet, you seem very level headed! I've started incorporating a lot of these at the start of this year and I feel so much more balanced in myself.
