12 Things I Achieved in in 2017 // Year-In-Review!

Hey lovelies! It's a bit of an awkward time of year isn't it? You know that stage in between Christmas and The New Year where no one quite knows what to do with themselves, and people are either still hanging onto Christmas songs or planning out their New Year's Resolutions. I've seen so many New Year's Resolutions blog posts lately but whether you agree with the whole 'New Year, New Me' thing or not, I think the more important thing to be doing at this time of year, that people seem to forget... is looking back on what you actually achieved this Year! 2017 has been a crazy year and I've definitely changed a lot more that I realised this year - all it takes is a little scroll through my snapchat memories and I'm shocked! So instead, here's: 12 THINGS I ACHIEVED IN 2017. Some of these are blogging related; others life related goals or mini-achievements that just made my 2017.

1. I JOINED THE GYM THIS YEAR

A big thing I did in January this year and something that's lasted me all the way through this year (yes I went on Christmas Eve too *round of applause yas*) was joining the gym. I'd always wanted to but this year it's something I 100% stuck to and I'm so much happier. When starting I expected to suddenly see a huge change in my body after all the hours I was putting in each week but although I've achieved a lot it's honestly not something I'm bothered about any more (and this year has definitely taught me that!)

2. I MET MY BLOGGING FRIEND IN REAL LIFE

I cannot describe to you how crazy it was to finally meet my best blogging friend Sofia in real life this year. I did a whole blog post on our day out in London which you can read here, but the entire experience suddenly made 'blogging' feel so real to me and amazing that I was actually meeting someone in real life that I wouldn't have even know existed before blogging.

3. WENT ON A EUROPEAN ROADTRIP AND VISITED 7 COUNTRIES IN ONE SUMMER

Summer 2017 was insane. We visited 7 countries all in 5 weeks (which I blogged all the way here) and the amount of experience I got crammed into such a short amount of time was amazing. So many memories of everything from taking a boat ride down Bruge, to waffles in Amsterdam. and Hiking in the Swiss Alps in the pouring rain... oh and Disney Land Paris too! One of the best Summers ever this year.

4. WENT TO MY FIRST HOUSE PARTIES

Now, this is such a casual thing for me and friends now but this time last year the idea of going to a house party seemed crazy! Bit of a 'teenage achievement' for me this year that came with all sorts of other stuff too.

5. GAINED 1.6k TWITTER FOLLOWERS AND SMASHED 500 FOLLOWERS ON BLOGLOVIN'

These are definitely my main blogging achievements this year! I feel like in 2017 more than ever I've found my blogging direction a bit more and I'm determined to work even harder this year as it's made me realise how much I can accomplish through it. Can't wait to work with even more brands in the new year too.

6. CHOSE MY GCSE OPTIONS // AND HAVEN'T REGRETTED THEM

This was a big cause of stress at the start of 2017: Picking my options. Thankfully though, despite getting some of my reserves instead and swapping different subjects about, everything has worked out for the best and I'm not regretting them at all. For the next two years I'll be studying History, French, Triple Science, and Product Design for my GCSE's and I'm so happy with that!

7. MADE NEW FRIENDS + EXTENDED MY FRIENDSHIP GROUPS

This year I'd definitely say I've made so many more friends and gotten closer to new people and a mix of gcse classes with new people, parties and all sorts of other social things that means my friendship group feels massive compared to the start of the year! Another achievement also that I wasn't expecting in 2017, is having lots of guy-friends which going to an all girls school I never really got the chance to have.

8. WENT TO MY FIRST BLOGGING EVENT

Me and Olivia were so nervous about it but this year I went to my first ever blogging event in London with WeHeartMondays! It was such a fun night, we got to meet so many brands, other bloggers, and all in such a christmassy setting since the WeHeartMondays team had designed everything so nicely. To see more you should click Olivia's post here where she photographed the day.

9. GOT TO KNOW LONDON MUCH BETTER // MORE INDEPENDANT

Last week I was literally in Central London every single day (most of the time by myself!) and I feel like overall I've gotten to know my own city so much better now. I'm on trains more than ever now, going between blog meetups, days out with friends or even just getting myself between appointments and my nervousness about public transport has officially been conquered this year.

10. TRIED VEGANISM FOR A WEEK

You can go back to my post here from back in May where for the first time ever I tried Veganism! I cooked my own food for that week, looking up healthy vegan recipes and although it was more to test my own will-power and self control over staying vegan that whole week, I'm still very interested in Veganism and would love to do this again in the New Year

11. HOSTED 2 CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAYS

I had been looking forward to having a Christmas Giveaway on my blog this month just like in 2016, and woooh it was a success. I posted the prizes yesterday all packaged up cutely and I think I'd love to make it more of a regular thing in the New Year.

12. I SCRAP-BOOKED MY ENTIRE YEAR

I'm a huge sentimental kinda person (definitely more than your average teenager) and so at the start of this year I decided I would make a little scrapbook for each month in the year which I showed in this post way back in April. It's now filled with photobooth pictures, train tickets and photos that I'm so glad I kept up this year because looking back all the memories are hilarious. It's that personal kind of 'log' of 2017 for 14 year-old-me that I know I'll keep forever.

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know some things you achieved in 2017 in the comments below! Let's give each other a little internet *pat on the back* because you deserve it. Thanks so much everyone who's read my blog this year and I will see you in 2018 for my 3rd year of blogging!
