Fairy Lights + November Nights // Photography Post 1

Hey lovelies! Happy November and is it just me... or can you hear Christmas music already? I swear as soon as it hits November 1st the countdown begins haha, but I'm not complaining I love this time of year! Anyway, today I've decided to share with you something I don't often really on my blog: My photography. I love, love, love photography and have done for ages now, I'm always experimenting and messing about it whenever I can convince my friends to be 'models' for me and I love how different it can be to standard flat-lay sort of blog photography. I recently did a lil' shoot with my best friend and in this post I thought I would show you my process, final photos and all the outtakes which I always find interesting to see.

By no means am I professional (and I'm a bit nervous to put this up!) but I thought doing 'themed' photography posts on my blog would be fun and to just share one of my favourite hobbies. This shoot's theme was everything to do with Fairy Lights // Shadows // and Rosy tones since the lighting in November is just perfect for it but if you like this feel free to drop me suggestions in the comments below for other Shoot Inspiration for a new post! Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think, any feedback is definitely welcome ahh I'm so nervous about whether you'll like it or not...

Everything used in these photos: Canon 450d (Macro Setting,) String of pink Fairy Lights, iPhone camera light... and of course a friend to photograph.
We decided to take the photos in about 6pm in the evening, you know that time of day when it's just starting to get dark but still light enough to get really pretty shadows and sunset colours from outside. I also took most of the photos under my Velux skylight window in my bedroom which gives the perfect lighting from above as opposed to my regular window. It gives such a different effect having the light coming from above in terms of shadows in the photographs!

Left - Original
Right- Edited (Blue Hue)

" i do not want to have you
to fill the empty parts of me
i want to be full on my own
i want to be so complete
i could light a whole city
and then
i want to have you
cause the two of us combined
could set it on fire " Rupi Kaur
