Tea and Things 03

Heya lovelies! It's the start of a new month, meaning I think a good old 'Tea and Things' post is due. Basically, time for me to ramble all the stuff that never quite makes it into my weekly posts (with a cup of tea next to me of course!) This 'Tea and Things' it just so happens to be an ice-tea actually, since the weather has been so lovely lately and *touchwood* Summer is finally on it's way yass. I feel like a combination of a bunch of factors as well as just the sunshine have really helped to boost my mood and for the first time in a while I'm actually feeling great! Let's hope by the end of May I'm still feeling this way aha, but for now I hope you guys are all having a lovely start to the month!

01. Vegan for a Week?!
Next week I'm planning on going vegan for a week woahhh! The word 'vegan' sparks all sorts of opinions (both negative and positive) but I've been super interested in it lately and I thought although it's not going to be a permanent thing, why not give it a go for a week? People say all sorts about the energy and health benefits, or even skin as well, and so I guess I'm just intrigued to see myself and of course report back to you guys at the end of it hehe! As I'm already pescetarian, the no-meat thing is simple, but eek it's going to take a lot of will-power to stop myself from eating all the dairy and eggs in my fridge and so I've basically spent the whole of last weekend on Pinterest searching for Vegan Recipes. Let's just hope I actually last the week!

02. Scrapbooking
Lately (as you can see from the pic above!) I've been really into scrapbooking. I'm a total sentimental-mushy person and so I love making these sorts of things, filled with polaroids // train tickets // and photos from each month. In this book I've been dedicating 2 pages to each month and I've got photos scattered around my desk as I type - ready to start on April's pages! I'm actually thinking of doing a blog post all about this so let me know if you guys would be interested in that?

03. Posting 2x a week + Blogging Milestone
I hit a couple of blogging milestone's last month, the first being 1k followers on my twitter and the second; 400 Bloglovin' followers! It feels crazy to think that this time last year I only had about 100 Bloglovin' followers and didn't even have a twitter account haha, but I'm pretty proud of this lil' milestone! Also something I wanted to talk about  is posting 2x a week which is something I experimented with throughout April. It's a ton more work to get more than one post up a week, but I was interested to see the effect it had on my Blogging Stats and well this is what I managed to find out. Posting twice a week boosted my weekly views, and the number of people visiting my blog daily, however it meant less comments per post and not much increase in bloglovin' followers for me. Overall I think I'll be sticking to 1x a week simply because it's easier, with maybe a cheeky Sunday post thrown in every now and again!

04. Lucy Moon
You know when you go through a bit of an obsession phase with a certain Youtuber, and you literally cannot stop binge watching their videos? Well Lucy Moon has been my one this month and since I forgot to mention her in my April Love List... you're going to have to listen to my rambles here aha! I love everything about her channel, from her chatty GRWM's, to covers, to videos on mental health and alchohol, as well as her videos with Dodie- don't even get me started on those awe! She's also been doing VEDA last month (video-every-day-in-april) which I've been loving so much and she's definitely one of my favourite youtubers at the moment. Let me know in the comments if any of you guys watch her too, I'd love to know!

  1. Lovely post... I'm thinking of trying a vegan week too - I'm currently veggie. I find ditching meat really easy actually, but cutting out cheese is sooo hard!

  3. I really liked this post, I've always considered going vegan myself but already can't eat gluten, barley, wheat or rye so think I'd be too restricted! I also need to start scrapbooking more, I have so many photos which I haven't done anything with x

  6. Lovely post. I did think of going vegan for a week and although I don't eat much meat, I do eat a lot of animal protein so it would be quite hard for me. I admire your objective though! xx corinne

  10. I once went Vegan for 50 days. It started off as a really difficult thing to do (as a meat eater my whole life).

I didn't really notice any difference, but, I'd love to hear how your week goes!

  13. Firstly, congratulations on your 400 followers on Bloglovin. Keep writing blog posts like this one and you'll be on your way to 1K. I've never had an iced tea before. However, I read one iced tea recipe which appeared EXTREMELY sweet which I suppose put me off on drinking iced tea altogether. Apologises for rambling but vegan food is actually delicious. I'm not sure whether my family would be up to being full-time vegans but eating vegan food once in a while is definitely a treat. Let us know how you get on!
