How to Triple your Blog Views // Blogging Chatter 07

Hey lovelies! I'm back with a Sunday Post and for today I thought I'd do a Blogging Chatter post which I haven't done for ages, but it's one of my most popular series here on Just Morgs and so I thought one was definitely due. Blog views and Stats can be so frustrating, especially when you feel like no matter what you do you're just not getting anywhere ... believe me, I know. But there are certain tips I've discovered over time that are guarenteed to boost and even tripple your blog views depending on how many of them you do, and so although I'm no expert, I'm here to help y'all out! Everything from Blog Designs, to my favourite twitter RT accounts to use, all these tips are genuine things that have genuinely helped me boost my monthly views and I hope any of you fellow bloggers out there find this useful.

01) Use Twitter RT accounts // Hashtags

When promoting a new post on my twitter, I always make sure to tag twitter RT accounts in it or hashtags which can be so helpful for boosting views! There are certain accounts that are designed especially to retweet blog posts, and when they do this you stand far more chance of your post being read and drawing in new readers. The whole 'RT' thing is a bit of a chain reaction and so these twitter accounts are a great way to get started. A few of my faves that always work are: #GRLPOWR @BloggersTribe @Female BloggerRT and @TeenBloggersGR

02) Update your Blog Design

Your blog design is like judging a book by it's cover. It's not fair but we all do it! That's why it's so important to update your blog design or find a good theme that you're happy with. Even if your content is amazing, if people find your blog hard to navigate (with strange links and hard-to-read fonts) then the chances are they're going to close the page and move on just as quickly. It also helps your blog look more together and professional if that's what you're going for, and so I would recommend Pigdig or GeorgialouStudios if you're looking for affordable blog designs.

03) Change your Blog Post's 'search description'

This is a tip I discovered very recently and it has made such an impact on my blog views! I'm not sure how this works on wordpress but if you're using blogger like me there should be a tab called 'Search Description' in the sidebar as you're writing. In there, you can edit how your post appears when people search for it by adding keywords and your own description of the post. It means if people type in words like 'Blog Tips' 'How to boost views' or 'Just Morgs Blogging Chatter' my post is more likely to pop up at the top rather than having to fit just the title of the post.

04) #BloggersPromoHour

The Bloggers Promo Hour is a chat run by @beccaxjayne on twitter, where every Wednesday and Sunday at 8pm tons of Bloggers reply to her tweet with their latest blog post and the hashtag #bloggerspromohour. You can see the rules on her page, but basically the way it works is you rt, like and comment on other blogger's posts and then they check out your post and return all the comments ect. The people reading your post will primarily be bloggers themselves but in one night it will generally generate me about 150x extra views on the post and 10-15 comments.

05) Look into your Analytics

There's this whole stigma around analytics and how you 'shouldn't bother' looking at them or let them define you, but in some ways they really are so important. If you're looking to tripple your views the best way to do it is to spend some time looking into your analytics and coming to conclusions of what's working and what isn't. It can help you decide which kind of posts you should do more of and maybe which time of day is the most popular so you know when to post next week. Basically: don't ignore the stats haha!

-06) Schedule Tweets on Buffer // Hootsuite

I'm still trying to get used to this one because most of the time I'm not nearly as organised enough to do it, but scheduling tweets has been proven to boost your Blog views so much. Downloading apps like Buffer or Hootsuite means you can pre-write and schedule tweets or promote ones that didn't get as many views when first posted. You'll have to remember to continue 'topping up' the amount of tweets you have scheduled if you know what I mean but this tip has done wonders for my blog views and there's no way I'll be deleting these apps ever again!

Hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know in the comments if you have any tips for blog views! Let's share and help each other out on this post.

  1. Great post! Some really good ideas!

For Wordpress, I believe you can use the Yeost SEO plugin to modify the meta-description and MashShare to edit what appears on social media.

  13. You've got some great points here! On the topic of analytics - I don't think looking at them is a bad thing, but its when people become obsessed with them that it becomes a problem!
