My Blogging Pet Hates // Blogging Chatter 06

So as much as I love the blogging world and appreciate everything about it, I think everyone has a few blogging pet hates, right? You know what I mean, every so often those teeny, little things that make you want to roll your eyes and leave you tapping the keys on your laptop with even more force than necessary. Me too. Of course this is in no way trying to shade any bloggers who do any of these things, the blogging community is AMAZING and I honestly don't know what I'd do without it, but I would love to know if you guys can relate to any of these. In other words... please tell me I'm not the only one haha!

01. 'The Spam Commenter,'

You know the one I mean. As much as I'm for showing appreciation and and spreading positive comments across people's blogs, every so often I'll stumble across a spam commenter. Usually it'll be a generic comment like 'Nice Post.' with 5 different links to their site and oh boyyy does this annoy me! Especially when I find that exact same commenter all over my friends' blogs too!

02. 'Looking down on Teen Bloggers.'

If any of you guys are fellow teen bloggers you'll totally get this one, but for some reason so many other bloggers look down on us just because of our age. It's so infuriating because I always feel like I'm not taken seriously as a blogger because of it when really, if I hadn't mentioned my age on here, I doubt anyone would've been able to tell the difference!

03. 'Auto DM messages on Twitter.'

Maybe it's just me, but seeing one of these pop up every time I follow a blogger on twitter annoys the hell out of me! The automatic DM basically tells you to follow them on all platforms and it puts me off completely.

04. 'Awe you have a blog? How cute.'

Ohhh boi. I have to say parents and relatives are the main culprit in this one, mainly because blogging is still a relatively new thing to them, but it kinda get's on my nerves when you get the 'Awe how cute' reaction when talking about your blog. People seem to think it's just some cutesy little diary thing and nowadays I can't even be bothered to explain it to them anymore haha!

05. 'The Sponsor Seekers.'

Now I definitely don't think there's anything wrong with sponsored posts (I've done a couple myself!) or reaching out to a company from time to time, but one of the things I hate is when you find a blogger who is so obviously just in it for the freebies and money. I have had so many twitter DMs in the past from people basically just saying things like 'What company's have sent you stuff?' or 'How much did you get paid for this post, will the company sponsor me?' It's a little bit frustrating since I have worked so hard to get to where I am, regardless of any sponsor opportunities, and it seems that that's all people care about sometimes.

So there you go! Here are all my Blogging Pet Hates and things that may or may not make me want to cyber punch people in the face from time to time aha! I don't know whether any of you can relate to my list, but I'm sure you have one of your own so make sure to tell me them in the comments below. Also, hope you all have a fab half term, I cannot wait since I'm going skiing on holiday soon and of course there's still Valentine's Day on it's way too!

QOTD: DO YOU HAVE ANY BLOGGING PET HATES?

  2. These are so frustrating! I hate the Twitter DMs, especially if they seem legitimate conversation starters at first and then at the end of the paragraph you see "sent with Crowdfire" or whatever and realize it wasn't sincere!

  8. Automated DMs are one of my pet hates too! I always think it could be something exciting and then I'm just like... oh another auto DM. I'm more likely to unfollow the person for that reason.

  16. I absolutely HATE Auto DMs, they are so bloody annoying! My pet hate: People who follow, then unfollow then follow again on Twitter and Instagram. I think a lot of them are using bots to be honest but doesn't make it any less annoying!

    1. Ahh Instagram is the worst at this! I always end up gaining followers just as quick as I loose them x

  17. I really love this post and I would say that the first point is the one which annoys me the most, simply because that means that this person has a lack of respect for what you do and also probably thinks that you're stupid as everyone knows now that a 'nice post' immediately means that the commenter hasn't read the post! Don't really like the auto DM messages either, again, it's supposed to feel personal yet it truly isn't!

  18. Relatable, relatable, relatable. As a blogger of fifteen tender years young I face the problem of not being taken seriously pretty often, too! Also the auto DMs on twitter - what a pain...
Still I love blogging and (almost) all that comes with it :)

  21. I completely relate to these- I find instant dms so annoying and comments where it's clear all they've done is read the title and looked at the picture. I feel blogging is an art, so we really should spend time to support each other's and read. Lydia Eve | www.lydia-eve.blogspot.co.uk xx

  22. YES! All of these are so annoying, especially number 1 & 4. Having a blog takes a lot of work, and nothing is worse than someone not appreciating it.

  23. I totally relate to this post! I first started blogging when i was really yound and i stopped for a while because of #2 and #4 actually. But my biggest pet peeve has to be when people constantly compare me to Big bloggers.

  24. I can relate to the whole teen blogger thing too! Even if people don't say directly to me, I always feel as though I'm not being taken as seriously as I'd like to be. Also, Twitter auto DM is so annoying! I'm not going to spend precious minutes of my life following you on every platform when I could be catching up on youtube videos!! (not you, I mean the people who send auto DMs!) This comment is longer than I intended, I'll just leave now... bye!
