Healthy Chocolate-Chia Balls // Recipe

Hello lovelies, and how are you all? I'm currently typing from France, literally watching the snow fall outside my window (ahh bliss) and I hope you're enjoying your half term too.

It's been a while since I've done a foodie post but I just had to do one on these chocolate-chia balls because I've been absolutely obsessed with them lately! These delicious bite-size balls are perfect for when you're craving something sweet and are a much healthier option than reaching for all those left over Christmas chocolates in the cupboard. You know the kind I mean hehe! I've been making these in bulk recently as they're so quick and easy to make and will keep in the fridge throughout the week. They also don't require thousands of strange health and protein powders like you often find online, so for the average gal like me it's great!

Ingredients: (Makes 5-8 Balls)

  • 3 Tbsp of Chia Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp of Almond Butter
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • 1 Tsp of Agave Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 Cup of Desiccated Coconut (+ more for the outside!)
  • A Handful of Chopped Almonds

01. On a low heat, melt together the almond butter, cocoa powder, and sea salt.
02. Add the chia seeds, coconut and chopped almonds to a bowl and pour the mixture on top, stirring it in as you go to combine everything.
03. Now (get ya hands stuck in!) and roll the mix into lots of small bite-size balls.
04. When done, roll these balls in dessicated coconut and pop into the fridge in a small Tupperware. The perfect thing to snack on whenever your craving something sweet!

QOTD: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO THIS SPRING BREAK?
I'm currently skiing in France as you read this!

  4. Morgan you are incredible, I happened to be a really unhealthy person myself when it came to baking, but with my new book - Naturally Sassy - it has honestly changed my life. I now bake with loads of superfoods and am basically vegan now - as I am already vegetarian, I happen to have just started a blog, it would be lovely if you checked it out... It is soooooooo bad but hopefully it is not too boring. I would like to recommend cacao powder ( which is just raw cocoa powder - most peeps assume I am mispronouncing cocoa when I say cacaco ) for your baking, it is honestly a lot more bitter but with some healthy agave or pure maple syrup, it can transform your unhealthy habits completely - not saying you are unhealthy. Also, can I have a tip or two on how to spruce up my home, or just EVERYTHING. Thanks, Love your blog. - Millie xx

  6. I love bliss balls/raw snacks like these! I usually go for cacao powder instead of cocoa powder, but it can be a little pricey so cocoa powder is a great alternative. I'll have to try these, they look super tasty :) Great post xo
