Tea & Things // 01

Hello lovelies, and Happy New Year to ya all! What have you been up to? Today I really wanted to have a catchup with you all and - as the title suggests - just drink my tea and tell you about things! There really is no structure to this post I'm just gonna ramble about plans for 2017 and what's been going on lately, whether it be to do with Poetry, Refreshing my Blog, or Giveaways. I really want this year to be a fresh start for 'Just Morgs' and so what better a way to kick this year off, than to kinda re-group and talk about what's been going on, both past and future! PS. as aesthetic as this picture might look, I currently have an old, wonky snowman mug next to me - don't be fooled aha!

Lately I have really started to enjoy poetry, and ohhh my has this actually helped me so much in terms of mental health. I had originally been experimenting with songwriting in the past month to help relieve stress ect. but despite the fact I play guitar... um it became clear I could not write music! Instead though I tried out both writing and reading poetry and I don't know what is is but it's become my new favourite thing! This book, 'Milk and Honey' is just amazing, and I've literally been carrying it with my everywhere. It's filled with such short, but meaningful poems (the kind of deep-shit you might find scattered about tumblr) and I have fallen in love with every single one of the poems in it over the Christmas Hols!

Also this year, I've set myself on a bit of a mission to really 'find myself' in the blogging world and refresh my blog. I want to change up the themes of it, and kinda develop my own unique blogging style to properly personalize this lil' space, I'm planning to make a lot of my blog photos along the same sort of aesthetic as the one above, because pretty pictures make me happy, okay! I'll also be changing one of my blog categories at some point.
Also, I hosted my first giveaway last month! It was quite nerve-wracking at first because I had never done one before...and there's always that doubt in your mind that no one will even enter aha but it was really successful and the winner (Sophie) should have her prize by now!

Here are a few blogging-related goals that I hope to achieve by the end of 2017:

↠ Reach 60,000 Blog Views
  Host my7 first Twitter Chat
Reach 500 Bloglovin' Followers
Meet one of my Internet Friends in real life
Hold another Giveaway

And finally, pro 2016 I want to learn how to stop hating myself. Because I do. For so much, how I look, how I think, the awkward things I say...
most of this is all in my head, and so this year I really do want to try and get rid of these negative thoughts. Despite all this though there are lots of aspects about myself that I accepted in 2016 and am now much happier with. Like the fact I'm a total introvert and thrive more off 'me time' than being surrounded by friends and there is nothing wrong with that; like how my eye-bags are surely never going to fade, but ya know what that shows I'm human; like the fact I have some weird obsessions and hobbies (*cough* plants *cough* doctor who) that at the end of the day only make me, me. I hope to be able to list even more of these things by the end of 2017!

  16. Ahh Morgs, this post is so lovely! I really enjoyed reading it and I can tell from the comments that everyone else clearly agrees with me. Although I write poetry on a daily basis, I'm still yet to read Milk & Honey! It's raved about constantly and so I think I'm going to ask for it for my birthday.

    Have a lovely evening, girlie.
