Bullet Journal Blogging // Blogging Chatter 04

Hello lovelies! So you might remember a while back, I asked you all on a twitter poll which post you would like to see next on my blog and y'all were really interested in reading a post on one of my new favourite things... Bullet Journals! I started one of these a few months ago, and as a blogger I find them perfect for keeping me organised, reminding me of little social media tasks, and just being a super fun and creative thing to write in for a notebook junkie like me! You may have have heard the term 'Bullet Journal' floating around the interweb for a while but it is mainly described as 'a customizable and forgiving organization system. It can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, and diary, but most likely, it will be all of the above. It will teach you to do more with less.'
The way they work, is you create the pages yourself from a blank notebook and (depending on how tumblr you're feeling hehe!) they end up looking so colourful and cute, turning organisation into something creative and away from the computer. It also means every single person's one will be different and I love that about it. I thought in this post I'd take you through everything I did when starting my blogging bullet journal, as well as a few staple pages to include whether you're a blogger or not, and inspiration!

THE ACTUAL NOTEBOOK:

Most people recommend getting a plain moleskin notebook when starting bullet journaling but I opted for something with a bit more of a personal touch. I made this 'mood board' style cover after scrolling through tumblr and then simply collaged them on picmonkey and printed. It basically includes all my favourite things, so if you look closely you can even spot cacti, Dean Winchester and Halsey!

As for the actual pages inside, I used lined but I would say dotted pages work best for bullet journals because it allows you to be more creative with the space but it''s too late for me to change this by now.

INSPIRATION:

Finding pictures of bullet journals on Tumblr and Pintrest is one of the things that got me interested in bullet journals in the first place and I scrolled through hundereds of these before even beginning my own! I couldn't recommend this enough when you're starting out (all those fancy fonts, banners and doodles will make you feel so inspired!)

MY OWN PAGES:

I thought I'd show you a few of my own pages of my bullet journal and what I myself, find useful to keep in there. Bear in mind I'm not exactly the best artist as you read through haha, but I don't think it matters too much as the bullet journal is personal to you!

- Monthly Goals -
-The page you see above I like to use to track my monthly goals and this one is from September. You can see which ones I managed to tick off last month!

- Post Ideas -
- Brain Dump -
These are the pages where I tend to write all my ideas down and I would really recommend including things like these so you never forget all those blog-related ideas. The page called brain dump is where (quite literally!) all my random thoughts end up on paper and whether I end up using them or not, at least I have a place to keep everything!

- Blogging Post Calendar -
If you're like me, and for some reason can never seem to use your google calendar properly, this is a life-saver! I find it so much easier being able to write everything on paper like this and it makes me feel so much more organised for the month.
- Blogging Stats -

Do you track your social media numbers? I didn't used to (apart from the occasional scroll through my page views on blogger!) but I'm getting better at it since I started Bullet Journaling. I made a page like this to help me keep a record of how much I've gained/lost each month and it's helped me feel so much more productive and see what posts my readers enjoy!

 - Post Planning -

Sometimes I even like to use pages to plan out whole posts. It really depends what kind of post I'm writing but as you can see above it really came in handy for recording the recipe of my DIY Starbucks post last week, or planning how I was going to take the photos in my Autumn Wardrobe Essentials post.

Bit of a different post today, but I'm so happy I've finally managed to get it up for you guys hehe! Today has been so hectic and stressful (but I'm hoping that after I get all my school work and guitar lesson out of the way, The Bake Off will cheer me up later tonight!) Anyone else watch the GBBO? Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week lovelies, and I'll speak to you in next week's post! x

  1. This is such a good post, I've heard so much about Bullet Journals recently without really knowing what they are! I've sort of done this with my Pukka Pad for ages - keeping it a bit of an everything notebook; including post ideas, to do lists, key things to remember etc. Yours looks so gorgeous and creative!
