Hey lovelies, how are you? I smile everyday reading comments from you, but sometimes there are those weeks where nothing seems to put a smile on your face in general and you just feel a bit...blehhh. You guys seemed to love my last '7 Ways to become a Morning Person' post a few weeks ago so I thought why not turn this into a little positivity series of 7 Ways posts! Today we're tackling the smiles, and I hope you find any of my tips helpful!
01. MAKE OTHER PEOPLE HAPPY
I don't know about you, but making other people happy just makes me smile. When you're down, try making other's happy and you'll be surprised at how good it makes you feel too. After all, even the smallest giggle or smile from your friend can be contagious!
I could go on about scrolling through 'positive life quotes' online, but lets be real. Most of the time when I'm smiling it's after endless minutes of scrolling through memes on my phone (you know you do it too!) There always seem to cheer me up hehe and I just can't get enough of them!
03. THE LITTLE THINGS
There are so many things that go unnoticed by people in the usual rush of life and sometimes just taking a step back and watching can make your mood happier instantly. Now I'm not saying go full-on hippie or meditate in the fields every morning haha, but occasionally just stop and look at what's around you. The funny way that squirrel scampered up that tree in the morning, the cute way that man looked at his girlfriend on your bus home, that song you used to love playing on the radio that evening. There's a million smiles around you that you miss everyday.
03. LET GO
I think the main reason people forget to smile is because they're so caught up in everything (work, school, uni.) Even when you're not working there's still a part of you that's stressed out or worried even when there's nothing to do and the easiest way to smile is to relax. Even for just a minute, let go of that feeling and do something you enjoy.
05. DO WHAT YOU LOVE
This ties-in with the last tip really, but doing what you love is a sure way to put a smile on your face. For me this is blogging, a lush bath or simply reading comments from you guys. Don't feel you're not entitled to your own time or doing what you love sometimes.
06. JUST REMEMBER
Just remember it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile. I can't be bothered with all that extra excerise haha, can you?
Once you become a smiley person it's pretty hard to stop. Build up that habit of smiling more every day and it will make your life just a lil' bit more positive. Like I said, smile's are contagious!
