Healthy Berry and Melon Smoothie bowl! | Recipe

Hey lovelies! I feel like I haven't spoken to you in ages! I know it's only been a week, but I've been so busy with homework, essays...and all that fun stuff. Sarcasm of course.
Anyway, I don't know whether you guys knew this about me, but I have recently gotten into healthy eating. For real, I mean. Not those 'New Year' goals that only last till Feb, I've actually found myself drinking Green Smoothies and getting strangely over-excited at Holland & Barrett. No joke.

So anyway, today I thought I'd share one of my favourite healthy breakfasts: a smoothie bowl! Never heard of this? Nor had I until a few weeks ago, but trust me they're the best! They're essentially your average smoothie, but a little thicker and packed with even more nutrients to make a super healthy breakfast. And of course you eat it with a spoon. Mustn't forget that bit hehe!

Ingredients:

  • One Banana
  • 1/2  a Melon ( I always use honey melon because it tastes the sweetest!)
  • 50g of frozen berrries   (I used Blackberries, Rasberries and Cherries)
  • Mint Leaves
  • Juice of 1/2 a fresh lime
  • A Handful of Flaked Almonds, Mint, Oats and berries (to make it look pretty at the end!)

1. Add all the ingredients except the lime juice to your blender and blend until creamy and smooth.
2. Now you can add your lime juice, depending on how thick or thin your smoothie is so far (you want it thick enough to eat with a spoon!)
3. Now the fun bit hehe! Pour into a bowl and sprinkle with your favourite toppings, I arranged mine in little lines because I thought it looked pretty but feel free to do it however you like!

I still cannot get over how nice smoothie bowls taste! I tried my hardest to arrange mine like those cute ones you see on Pintrest, but of course that's almost impossible haha! There are so many different combos of these I'm yet to try out too, if you'd like to see more don't forget to comment down below and I'd be delighted. My interest in healthy food like this is only getting bigger, so I guess there will be plenty more recipes like this popping up on my blog soon! See you soo!
