A Day in France

Hello lovelies! So I know it's been a little while since I arrived back from France, but while clearing out my camera roll (Anyone else hate doing that haha?) I found all these photos from one of my days in France. There was so much to see and do there, but one of my absolute favourites were the little French Markets dotted about the village. I always prefer the more cultural aspects of visiting a country rather than simply staying in a hotel with a pool all week, and so I thought I'd share with you a snippet of my morning spent in the market!

~ Hand-woven Baskets for sale ~
~ French meat stalls ~
The market was bustling with people, which I think was actually my favourite thing about it! I did almost get lost in it hehe, but it was just so captivating to watch the crowds of people moving between stalls, laughing, hollering and what sounded like haggling over food (in French though!)

~ Bowls of olives to try ~
 ~ Fresh fruit ~
The fruit stalls there were amazing! There was such a variety and it all tasted so ripe and delicious (much better than limp Supermarket fruit we get in England!)

~ Cured meat stalls ~
~ Piglets ~
We also met this adorable little piglet there! There was a few of them there (not actually for sale don't worry) but we had a quick stroke and they were so sweet- I kinda wanted to take one home! ps. comment 'Oink!' if you've read this far!

~ Dried Meat and Olive Stall ~
~ Handmade nougat ~
Ahh the Nougat one was probably my favourite stall there (you would not believe how many samples I had of these hehe!) I loved the Almond and Pistachio one and since France is famous for it's nougat so I had to buy one - or that's my excuse anyway!

Hope you enjoyed this short travel post, I'm missing France just looking at the photos but fingers-crossed I'll be back next year! Also, I've been kind of re-thinking my blog lately and the sorts of posts I should do more of, and I'd love to hear any suggestions from you guys or ideas you'd like to see on my blog. I'm not altering anything drastically don't worry, but I've kind of come back refreshed and want to change things up a bit. Speak to you next week lovelies,

  7. Beautiful photos and a great post - that piglet is so cute!
Whereabouts in France were you? Looking at the market produce I'd say you were more South than North and I know Montelimar is famous for it's nougat, but a lot of markets sell it now :)

  12. Great post, and lovely photos. I love all the markets in Europe, sadly there aren't many here in Iceland but every time i travel I always go to the markets! I also agree with you on exploring the culture rather than staying at the hotel the whole time.
