Hey there! So a couple of weeks ago, I was kindly sent a new product to review here on my blog by the company Bioderma (A French based skincare brand which I have heard great things about!) I was delighted when I opened the package to find the Hydrabio Light Facial Moisturiser inside. As I've mentioned before, my skin gets so dry and dehydrated in the Winter Months and so I was much looking forward to trying this out!
Just a little disclaimer before I get on with the review: this post has not been sponsored in any way and everything mentioned is of my own honest opinion.
This product is from the Hydarbio range which specialises in Dehydrated or Sensitive Skin (which should be perfect for Winter time) and has an RRP of £14.50 which I think is pretty reasonable for the 40ml inside. All you need is two pumps each time you moisturise (and trust me this bottle lasts forever!) It comes comes in an slim air pump bottle which I must say is very travel friendly, super light and not bulky to carry around like a lot moisurisers that come in jars!
The moisturiser contains niaciamide and plant based antioxidants which I was interested to read because a lot of them are known for their anti-aging properties. Not that I would be able to properly notice the effects though, being really young and all! It's also hypoallergenic and non comedogenic, so absolutely ideal for sensitive skin types like my own.
The texture of the actual moisturiser, it is extremely light, almost watery in fact. At first I wasn't sure about this, since I find I always need thicker more heavy-duty moisturiser during Winter, but this formula worked surprisingly well! On the skin it feels lightweight and silky yet locks in the moisture withought feeling slick or greasy. I hate the feeling of clogged pores after using moisturiser and am pleased to say this product did not have that effect on me at all!
It absorbs quickly into the skin (and by quickly I mean literally seconds!) so it's perfect for morning use in particular. What's also great about the formula is it's water-based which makes it easy to apply makeup straight after. It does have a very subtle floral scent which I don't particularly like, but it's is actually imperceptible once the cream is applied.
After a couple of weeks of using this (morning and night) I can honestly say my skin feels a lot healthier. It's made my skin feel hydrated, balanced and also given it a bit of a glow in fact! The light texture of the cream means there is non-sticky and oily feel after application which I love and am constantly looking for in a moisturiser. As a morning cream it's perfect, although I do have to say I would prefer to use a more rich and heavy moisturiser for night skincare. I'm not too keen on the scent either (it smells lightly floral but in my opinion, slightly artificial really.) But overall I would definitely consider repurchasing this product, as it is perfect for daytime wear and now has a place in my little skincare routine for it's exceptional results!
Hope you enjoyed this little review! There will definitely be a few more of these in the next few months as I love to try out new products (particularly in skincare!) Ps. Some very exciting news: I have just upgraded to a self-hosted domain! So now my Blog appears as 'JustMorgs.com' instead. So excited, because this is a mini-milestone for me and I guess it's just another chapter of this 'little' blog's journey done and dusted! See you next post!
